Kristy’s Kitchen Mixes

I was wandering around my local farmer’s market not that long ago and I visited the Kvam Family Farm booth. I got to talking to the gal, who I had attended school with and mentioned my “new diet”. She immediately pointed to the Kristy’s Kitchen mixes there in her booth. She said “I can still have wheat, but man are her muffins good.” Unfortunately for me they were out of the muffins… But they did have the Artisan Graham Crackers and the Savory Thin and Crispy Cracker mix. I picked up one of each. (Check her website listed at the bottom of this page, they have a lot of other really great mixes!)

The graham crackers were made and used in my S’mores challenge. Super easy to make only required a few ingredients from the fridge and were done in under half an hour total. I didn’t roll mine out quite thin enough, so they were more of a cookie consistency. They weren’t exactly what I was looking for to use with my s’mores, but they stood well on there own.

The Savory Thin and Crispy crackers were my favorite of the two. As a former Wheat Thins fan, these fill that gap very nicely. Slightly flavored, nicely crisp. Perfect with the homemade hummus my husband loves to make. Also incredibly easy to make, they needed only a few ingredients that didn’t come in the bag, and cooked in about 10 minutes! As tempting as they are right out of the oven, they are so much better once they cool enough not to burn your mouth.

In the end, I just want to thank Kristy’s Kitchen for making it easier to be Gluten Free in the Great Plains.

Hello. My name is Amanda. I'm one year gluten free, and can honestly say it's been a long time since I felt this good. This change was not by choice. This was my new challenge. I'd been baking vegan for a while already, so Gluten Free should be no problem. My goal is to make (and photograph, as that is my another love) delicious Gluten Free goodies that EVERYONE, even those who can still have gluten can enjoy.
